You haven’t needed that insect repellant for years so why are you holding on to it? What about that leftover weed killer? Or the pool chemicals that made the move with you – even when the pool didn’t? If you’re like most Ontarians, you’re holding on to these types of products because you know they shouldn’t be tossed in the trash or down the sewers, but you’re unsure how to dispose of them.

Now you can return all your leftover pesticides, fungicides and herbicides to your local Municipal Recycling Facility or to a collection event in your community.

What's included?

Products that bear the “DOMESTIC” classification and are registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada) are all part of Orange Drop. These include insect repellents, weed killers, pest control products, flea and tick collars for pets and even pool chemicals, such as algae removers

Pesticides control pests that can damage our crops – they also help manage the mosquito population and reduce the potential for mosquito-borne illness. Fungicides protect our flower and vegetable gardens from harmful fungi. And herbicides kill troublesome weeds. But all of these products and their containers require special care – that means proper storage, handling and disposal.

Be safe – follow manufacturers’ instructions. These products can’t be recycled, so the best way to prevent leftovers is to buy only what you need and use them up entirely. If you still have more than you need, safely store it, or give it to a friend or neighbour. If that’s not possible, unwaste your space.

It's time to Make the Drop – Orange Drop!
